Year 7 Final Assembly Celebration Today, our Year 7 students came together for their final assembly of the year. A number of students were recognised with special certificates for their outstanding effort, positive attitudes, willingness to challenge themselves, and commitment to continually improving and achieving their best. Nominated by their subject teachers, these awards celebrate the hard work, resilience, and determination shown throughout the year. Yellow Week Team Building with the NUFC Foundation As part of Yellow Week, we were delighted to welcome the NUFC Foundation for a fantastic session. The team got involved in a range of fun, football-themed activities that encouraged teamwork, communication and a healthy bit of friendly competition! Barcelona Trip Update After an unexpected day of travel challenges and flight delays yesterday, our group was finally reunited in Barcelona late last night! Despite the long journey, everyone remained positive, resilient and in great spirits throughout. Today, the students are excited to begin exploring all that this incredible city has to offer. With adventures ahead, new experiences waiting around every corner and plenty of memories to make, the trip is now truly underway. Attendance World Cup Champions – Again! 7LC were not quite knocked off the top spot and remain our Attendance World Cup winners for the second week running, as well as champions of our final Attendance World Cup week! Not only did they hold onto first place, but they absolutely smashed the competition, finishing at the top of the leaderboard with an incredible 95 points! To celebrate their achievement, 7LC enjoyed some well-deserved ice pops at break time today . Their success will also be rewarded next week with a takeaway pizza treat to round off their fantastic Attendance World Cup campaign! A massive well done to every single student who turned up on time, every day, earning valuable points for their tutor group throughout the competition. Ford Castle Residential Trip Day 1 completed! Today, our students took on the zip wire and archery. A huge thank you to Northumberland Cricket Board and James Duncan for delivering an excellent cricket taster morning for our KS3 students last week! Students had the opportunity to develop their cricket skills, learning how to bowl, bat, and take part in a variety of fun and engaging games. Future Leaders Programme – University of Bath Visit Our NGA students have returned home safely after an inspiring visit to the University of Bath as part of the Future Leaders Programme. Working in mixed teams with students from schools across the country who shared similar subject interests, they were challenged to create and present display boards exploring different routes into their chosen careers. Their projects examined both traditional university degree pathways and apprenticeship routes, showcasing the opportunities available after school. Students presented work completed to an exceptional standard, sharing their ideas and findings with University of Bath students and gaining valuable feedback along the way. The experience provided an excellent opportunity to collaborate with new people, develop presentation skills and gain a deeper understanding of higher education and future career options. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the programme. Year 10 Students Receive Their Well-Earned DofE Bronze Certificates! Congratulations to our Year 10 students who have successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award! Their final challenge saw them embark on a two-day expedition along a section of the iconic Hadrian's Wall long-distance footpath, marking the culmination of a year of dedication, perseverance and achievement. Throughout the programme, students have made a positive impact through volunteering in the local community, taken part in a range of sporting activities and developed valuable new skills. The DofE Award helps young people build resilience, confidence and independence while gaining life experiences that are highly valued by employers, colleges and universities.
