Huge congratulations to our incredible Year 11 students! On Wednesday, eight very brave and brilliantly prepared Year 11s took part in the European Youth Parliament debate at Jesmond Park Academy. They went up against five Sixth Form teams and absolutely held their own! They delivered eloquent, confident speeches and debated complex current events with reason, research, and real maturity - totally doing us proud. View Post#WakeUpWednesday Parental Online Safety Update Adult animated content is increasingly visible on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and streaming services. While the bright visuals and cartoon style may seem harmless at first glance, many of these shows and clips are created specifically for mature audiences, featuring strong language, sexual references, graphic violence and unsettling themes. This week's guide helps parents and educators understand the risks, from misleading visuals and algorithm-driven recommendations to desensitisation and edgy humour. It also offers practical advice on platform settings, open conversations and building children's critical thinking, so young people can navigate online animation safely and confidently. #OnlineSafety #keepingchildrensafeonline #GosforthGroup #CreatingFutures #northgosforthacademy
View PostTheatre in Education Workshop Last week, our Year 7 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in a Theatre in Education workshop delivered by Theatre Space NE, focusing on the important theme of sustainable travel. The interactive performance explored the everyday decisions young people make about getting from place to place, highlighting the environmental impact of different travel choices. Through engaging storytelling, humour, and relatable characters, the Theatre Space NE team encouraged students to think about how walking, cycling, carsharing, and using public transport can help protect the planet. The session not only supported our commitment to environmental awareness but also helped students build confidence in teamwork, communication, and critical thinking. Year 7 thoroughly enjoyed the experience and left inspired to make positive changes, one journey at a time. We'd like to extend a huge thankyou to Theatre Space NE for delivering such an energetic, thoughtprovoking session, and to our students for taking part with such enthusiasm. #SustainableTravel #TheatreInEducation #EcoAwareness #FutureChangemakers #SchoolLife #NorthGosforthAcademy #gosforthgroup #creatingfutures
