  • Admissions Consultation for 2027 Entry

The consultation will run from Monday, 1st December 2025, and will close at 9.00am on Monday, 26th January 2026.

We have proposed changes to our Gosforth Group’s admission arrangements for September 2027 entry.

Gosforth Group follows the Department for Education's School Admissions Code (September 2021). In line with the Code, we consult on admission arrangements whenever there is a change which requires consultation, and at least once every seven years even if there is no change. We last consulted in 2025 for 2026 entry.

Proposed changes for September 2027 entry include the introduction of three policies rather than two, as detailed below:

Admissions Policy for North Gosforth Academy (NGA) in North Tyneside

    • Clearer definition of ‘sibling’ in line with Schools Adjudicator jurisdiction.
    • Clearer definition of ‘appropriate professionals’ in relation to the admission of children out of normal year group, in line with Schools Adjudicator jurisdiction.

Admissions Policy for Callerton Academy (CA), Gosforth Academy (GA) and Jesmond Park Academy (JPA) in Newcastle

    • A separate policy from Junior High Academy and Great Park Academy.

Admissions Policy for Great Park Academy (GPA) and Gosforth Junior High Academy GJHA in Newcastle

    • A separate policy from Callerton Academy, Gosforth Academy, Jesmond Park Academy.
    • Proposed changes to the feeder school oversubscription criteria in line with Schools Adjudicator jurisdiction.
    • Introduction of Category A and Category B feeder schools.

This consultation process provides an opportunity for stakeholders to comment on the proposed changes. The consultation will run for eight weeks (including school holidays), opening at 9.00am on Monday 1st December 2025 and closing at 9.00am on Monday 26th January 2026.
