GCSE RESULTS - Thursday 20th August

Date Published:
Wednesday 19 August 2020

We are aware that our Year 11 students and parents will have been following the media closely with regard to the awarding of GCSE results due tomorrow.

I am aware that the uncertainty has caused distress and anxiety but only last night did exam boards notify schools about what information they were sending out to us ready for results day.

We can now confirm at GCSE you will be awarded one grade for each subject - this will be either:

  • Your Centre Assessed Grade submitted by the school
  • The calculated grade from the exam board

Rest assured, you will be awarded the highest of these grades.

Vocational qualifications are a bit more complicated - we are expecting most of the results to be in tomorrow but some may be delayed.

As per the letter you received towards the end of last term,  we have had to stagger arrival times tomorrow.  All students have an individual appointment with a senior member of staff.  Please contact Mr Ayres at chris.ayres@northgosforth.co.uk if you are unsure about the arrangements.

For Covid-19 safety please remember no parents are allowed in the building and students are asked to leave the site promptly, following the one way system, having collected their results.

There will be an opportunity to speak to Connexions and Gosforth Academy Sixth form on the day if there are queries regarding next steps.

We are really looking forward to seeing the students tomorrow and celebrating their achievements at the end of what has been a tumultuous year.

Mr Campbell

Principal
