We are extremely proud of what you have achieved, especially given the challenges and disruption caused by the pandemic. You have worked extremely hard and we are pleased to share your success with you today.
This is the first set of GCSE examinations to be sat in school since 2019 and we are very impressed with the determination, focus and confidence our students have approached their exams with. You are a remarkable year group and we are delighted to see our GCSE results smashing our pre-pandemic results!
Today has seen record results since the school joined the Gosforth Group multi academy trust in 2018 and exceptional improvements on 2019 results:
- 75% of students obtained a grade of 4 or above in both English and Maths, a 20% improvement on 2019
- 52% of students obtained a grade 5 or above in both English and Maths, a 25% improvement on 2019
- 74% of students obtained two grade 4’s or above in their Sciences, a 17% improvement on 2019
There were also some excellent results in specific subject areas with high percentages of students being awarded a grade 5 or above:
- English Language 61%
- English literature 62%
- Maths 59%
- Art 63%
- Business Studies 58%
We’d also like to extend our thanks and congratulations to our amazing staff, parents and carers who have supported the students over the last couple of years with prep work, revision and wellbeing support.
It is great to see to see so many of you enrolled to complete A Levels or BTEC’s at our Gosforth Group Sixth Forms; Jesmond Park Academy and Gosforth Academy, where you are sure to find a warm welcome awaiting for you in September.
Principal Pete Fox commented “All of our students and staff should feel extra proud of themselves, as this years’ exam result success provides yet another reason to celebrate following the schools improved Ofsted rating awarded in June. It is clear that, for the school, and for the community we serve, this is just the beginning of remarkable successes in the future. We wish all of the students continued success and happiness for the future.”
