Congratulations to Year 11 students on their GCSE results

Congratulations to all of our Year 11 students on their GSCE results this morning.

We are extremely proud of what you have achieved, especially given the obvious disruptions and challenges the last couple of years have presented. You have shown great determination and have worked hard to prepare for these exams and we are pleased to share in your celebrations today.

This year we have seen some excellent progress improvements with a large number of students achieving at least a grade higher in their exams versus their predicted grades. Special congratulations go out to Amy Bright, Abi Mitchell, Miguel Rosario, Jamila Jooste, Freya Main and Charlie Kelk, who all have achieved higher grades across the board compared to their predicted attainment.

It is also very pleasing to see an increase in the number of students gaining grades 9-5 in core subjects such as English and Maths compared to pre-pandemic results. Even more students will leave North Gosforth Academy with a strong pass in English and Maths, equipping them with the grades they need to go onto study any Level 3 course at a school Sixth Form or college.

We’d also like to extend our thanks and congratulations to our amazing staff, parents and carers who have supported the students over the last couple of years with prep work, revision and wellbeing support.

We are celebrating with our students today and supporting those who need us. There are options and opportunities available to all of our students, regardless of their grades, and we will ensure that everyone gets the guidance they need to help them with their next steps.

It is great to see to see so many students enrolled to complete A Levels or BTEC’s at our Gosforth Group Sixth Forms; Jesmond Park Academy and Gosforth Academy, where you are sure to find a warm welcome awaiting you in September.

All of our students and staff should feel extra proud of themselves. The school is continuing to make improvements and supporting more students to achieve their full potential. We wish all of the students continued success and happiness for the future.

Pete Fox, Principal
